A lamentation is a gut wrenching type of grief..A pain rooted so deeply that it is nearly impossible to console a person in this state!

Rachel experienced such grief because she fully understood the consequences of disobedience to the Most High. She was not a silly woman led astray by every wind of doctrine. She knew that the wages of sin was death and that renegotiation was not an option. Rachel revered the Most High’s Word, knowing that it never returned to Him void...whatever He spoke, came to pass! She fully understood the blessings for obedience and the curses for disobedience..Elohim’s laws, statutes and commandments were always at the forefront of her mind. She taught them to her children diligently, writing them on the doorpost, speaking it to them in the house or along they way..reiterating it when they arose in the morning and when they laid down at night.

And it was “THAT” understanding that caused her to lament!

She lamented over the fact that her children’s disobedience would render them helpless against the spiritual wickedness in high places. She wept knowing that their very identity would be stolen from them. She was grieved knowing that they would be scattered throughout the four corners of the earth, wandering blind and aimlessly..It pained her to imagine that they would be taken into one brutal captivity after the other...that they would be used and abused, tortured and killed,

But...Elohim!

Saw her pain, and offered hope in the end. He revealed to her that someday her wayward children would come to themselves, remember whose they are and return back to “The Way.”

Dry your eyes mother’s of Zion, your work shall be rewarded!

Jeremiah 31:15-17

“Thus saith the Most High; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were no more!

Thus saith the Most High; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Most High; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

And there is hope in thine end, saith the Most High, that thy children shall come again to their own border.”
